Privacy Policy

Channel X-Ray is built to run without accounts, without advertising, and without cross-site tracking. This policy explains the limited data we do handle, why, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is SIÁN OÜ (registry code 16038482), Kotkapoja tn 2a-10, 10615 Tallinn, Estonia. For any privacy question or request, email hello@sian-agency.online.

2. The data we collect

Data you give us

The channel you look up— the YouTube handle or URL you enter so we can produce your report.
Feedback you submit— if you complete the optional feedback form, your role, use case, a fair-price rating, any free-text comment, and an email address if you choose to provide one.
Payment details— when a report is paid, the transaction is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number; we receive a confirmation of payment and a transaction reference.

Data collected automatically

A salted hash of your IP address, used only to enforce fair-use limits on free reports and to prevent abuse. We do not store your raw IP address for this purpose.
A bot-protection signal from Cloudflare Turnstile when you request a report.
Minimal server logs generated by our hosting providers for security and reliability.

Public data we process about third parties

To produce a report we retrieve publicly available information from YouTube about the channel you enter — channel statistics, videos, comments (including commenter display names), and transcripts. We do not collect private data, and we only process what is already public. See section 8 for how a channel owner or commenter can request removal.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

To deliver the report you request— legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
To process payment— legal basis: performance of our contract, and compliance with accounting law.
To prevent fraud and abuse of the free tier(hashed IP, Turnstile) — legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
To improve the productfrom feedback — legal basis: our legitimate interest, and your consent where you provide free-text or an email.

4. Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other sites, and we do not build advertising profiles. To understand how the service is used, we rely on Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect information that identifies you individually — it measures aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, and country. The only other client-side storage we rely on is strictly necessary for the service to function, such as the bot-protection check.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that operate Channel X-Ray on our behalf, under contract:

Stripe— payment processing.
Convex— backend and database hosting.
Vercel— application hosting and content delivery.
Cloudflare— bot protection (Turnstile).
Umami— privacy-first, cookieless website analytics.
Our YouTube data provider— used to retrieve the public YouTube information described above.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep it

Reports and the scraped data behind them are automatically deleted 7 days after the report is created.
Feedback and the hashed IP are kept only as long as needed for product improvement and abuse prevention, then deleted.
Payment and invoicing records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law.

7. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@sian-agency.online. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Estonia this is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).

8. If you are a channel owner or commenter

Channel X-Ray processes information that YouTube already makes public. If your channel or a comment attributed to you appears in a report and you want it removed, email hello@sian-agency.online and we will remove it. Because reports auto-delete after 7 days, most such data clears on its own.

9. Children

Channel X-Ray is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the Last updated date shown above.
