YouTube Comment History: Find, Edit, and Delete
Learn how to find your YouTube comment history on desktop and mobile, edit or delete past remarks, share direct comment links, and spot missing entries.

Your comment history on YouTube is the running record of every public remark and reply you’ve made using your Google account. Whether you need to correct a typo, clean up past discussions, or double-check old advice, you’ll find your comment history separated from your viewing record, so tracking it down takes a few extra steps. Here’s how to find, edit, delete, or share your YouTube comments, plus what’s missing from the log and what you can’t do natively.
Where to Find Your YouTube Comment History on Desktop
On desktop, your comment history isn’t tucked into your general YouTube profile. Instead, it’s stored in your Google account’s activity center:
- Open YouTube in your browser and log in.
- In the left menu, click History.
- On the right, click Manage all history.
- Find Comments, this link takes you to Google’s My Activity page for YouTube comments.
- You’ll see every comment and reply, listed by date, each with the video it belongs to. Click any video title to open the video with your comment highlighted at the top of the thread.
How to Access Comment History on Mobile
The YouTube app doesn’t feature a prominent comment history button. To get there on iOS or Android:
- Open the YouTube app and sign in.
- Tap your profile icon (or the You tab).
- Tap the gear (Settings) in the upper right.
- Scroll to Manage all history.
- Tap the Interactions tab if prompted.
- Under Comments & replies, choose YouTube comments.
Interface labels sometimes change with app updates, but you’ll always end up in your Google My Activity, where your historic comments appear.
What’s in Your Comment History, and What Isn’t?
YouTube’s history lists every public comment and reply you leave under videos and Shorts, but it skips a few categories:
- Comments on deleted or privatized videos: Gone for good. If a video is taken down or made private, your comment vanishes from both the video and your history.
- Comments removed by YouTube’s moderation: If your remarks broke community rules or were flagged as spam, they’re wiped from your log.
- Moderator-deleted remarks: If a channel owner deletes your comment, it’s erased from your history as well.
As Lilach Bullock explains, if you spot a missing comment you know you posted, these are the likely reasons.
Editing, Deleting, or Sharing a Specific Comment
You can’t edit or delete a comment directly in your comment history; you need to jump back to the video thread:
- In your comment history, click the linked video.
- Your comment loads at the top, labeled as Highlighted comment.
- Click the three-dot menu beside your comment to edit or delete.
Want to share a direct link to any comment? Right-click (or tap-and-hold) on the timestamp beside your comment’s username, then select Copy link address. That URL loads the video with your comment pinned for anyone you share it with.
Example: Finding and Updating an Old Comment (Invented Example)
Say you posted a technical fix six months ago and want to update it:
- You open your desktop comment history and scroll to June.
- Click the video link; your old comment appears at the top.
- Click the three dots, select Edit, change the details, and save.
- You right-click the "6 months ago (edited)" timestamp and copy the link to share directly.
What You Can’t Do with YouTube Comment History
- View another person’s history: YouTube keeps comment history private, only your own is visible in My Activity.
- Search your entire comment log by keyword: There’s no cross-history search bar; only sort or date filtering.
- Export your history as a CSV or spreadsheet: There’s no export button for your entire comment record.
- Bulk-delete all comments: There’s no select-all; you’ll need to delete entries one by one.

How to Search or Export Comments on Videos You Don’t Own
Need to scout public discussions under someone else’s video or look up a specific comment as a guest? Account-level history won’t help, but there are third-party free tools with limits:
- Channel X-Ray Comment Search lets you filter the 100 newest public comments by keyword or username on any video.
- Channel X-Ray Comment Downloader exports up to 100 recent top-level comments as CSV or JSON. Each comment is tagged by type, question, feedback, content request, etc., so you don’t have to wade through them blindly.
- For finding specific remarks or searching by phrase or author, see Channel X-Ray’s detailed guide.
Frequently Asked Questions about YouTube Comment History
Can other people see my YouTube comment history?
No. Your comment history is only accessible to you. Other users can see public comments you leave under videos, but they can’t browse your complete comment record.
Why did a comment disappear from my history?
It’s usually removed because the video was deleted or privatized, the comment broke rules, or the creator deleted it.
If I edit a comment, does the date change?
No, the original post date stays in place, but YouTube adds an “(edited)” label.
Can I bulk delete all my YouTube comments?
No native way exists to delete every comment at once. Each entry must be deleted one by one. Hiding your channel in settings removes public comments but is a drastic, account-wide step.
